I was thinking about this yesterday.Having other people's opinions and support has been invaluable this past yr.
It is all very well contacting family or friends but I think the topics covered on here are quite broad and interesting.
Anyone else that has loved this site as somewhere to vent and get feedback.

Yes.

bruffin · 18/03/2021 16:57

I think MN as far more damage than good to MH in lockdown. Loads of misinformation, hysteria, virtue signalling (someone coughed and i told them off type posts)

Not really. It has confirmed to me that the world contains people who are responsible and kind but there are an awful lot of unpleasant and socially irresponsible people too.
The ratio of nice people to unpleasant is seriously off on MN. Its really isnt representative of my world

jessstan2 · 18/03/2021 17:01

I like to visit Mumsnet but never thought of it as 'saving my sanity' or anything like. I don't need to vent and am no different during lockdown to how I was before except for enjoying the peace.

moanieleminx · 18/03/2021 18:28

Not only during lockdown.

I turned to mumsnet when trying to deal with subsequent miscarriages and fertility problems 15 years ago.

I am an addict... (and a regular name changer)

Forkorspoon · 18/03/2021 18:30

No, quite the opposite. I had to take a big break from it for the sake of my sanity.

FireflyRainbow · 18/03/2021 20:22

I enjoy reading through AIBU but its definitely not saved me during lockdown 😂 netflix on the other hand.....

IFoundMyselfInThisBar · 18/03/2021 20:34

Mumsnet definitely gives me something to do but that’s as far as it goes. I think it could be quite damaging to mental health, definitely not a sanity saver.

whatisforteamum · 18/03/2021 20:50

Oh yes the nastiness can be quite bad.Ive got no idea why people cannot scroll by on things the don't like.
No need to be spiteful even if the question is daft.

I found the Covid hysteria a bit much tbh and am gently poking my head back round the corner................

Oooohbehave · 18/03/2021 21:16

No. It's made me more irritable, especially the Covid police on here. I really want to stop looking at it but I'm addicted, thinking of deactivating my account but not ready Grin

This!

And definitely this too!

Hotcuppatea · 18/03/2021 21:54

No. I logged off for ages because the Covid hysteria and health anxiety was just too much to take. It's been better the last month or so.

Strangekindofwoman · 18/03/2021 21:57

It has made lockdown worse with all the doom and gloom and covid madness.

PanamaPattie · 18/03/2021 22:00

I've hidden many COVID related threads on here for my sanity. Too many covidiots.

KeepWashingThoseHands · 18/03/2021 22:03

Sometimes yes, and sometimes it’s driven me insane with fake corona news. Love hate relationship like most things in my life!

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 18/03/2021 22:20

Yes probably
I live alone, so definitely the periods when I've had to be home 24/7.

Jemimapuddleduk · 18/03/2021 22:25

Haha no! The covid hysteria has not helped me at all.
