Hi,

It's an ebay one!

So, I brought a child's bundle of shoes on there, in a size 4. All in really good condition, was 25 pounds.

It was buy it now so money already gone.

I have received a message from the seller saying 'hello, really sorry but I have sold two of the pairs of shoes in this bundle but I have this pair (sent me a picture of a not very pleasant pair of shoes truthfully) in a size 3" So not even the size of the bundle lol.

I know it's not loads of money but I'm a bit taken aback! The two pairs she has said she no longer has were actually the ones I liked the most. I have responded saying as much and no reply yet. Can I cancel the order? Will ebay sort this? Just thinking as it's not reflective of what I thought I was purchasing!

Yes you should be able to have the order cancelled and refund

PlanetPuddle · 17/03/2021 09:50

The seller should be able to cancel from their end. If not I think you have to open a dispute but its been a while sorry.

FridayNightAtTheBronze · 17/03/2021 09:51

Very cheeky. And you can absolutely request to cancel your order.

Unfortunately only the seller can cancel an order. But if they don't, eBay can step in.

NixNooo · 17/03/2021 09:52

Very cheeky indeed. eBay are great with resolving these things. You need to write to the seller asking for a refund so it’s documented that you’ve tried to resolve it, and if they decline/ don’t reply you can raise a dispute with eBay and they’ll reimburse. Might take a couple of weeks or so as they need to give the seller time to respond etc.

Flowerlane · 17/03/2021 09:55

I would tell her that the sale needs to be cancelled. If she refuses then get in touch with eBay who will sort it as she is now not selling the items you paid for.

Were the 2 pairs a brand name by any chance? And she feels she could get more?

willibald · 17/03/2021 09:55

Cheeky. Request a refund and then do as Nix says.

Marshmellowx3 · 17/03/2021 09:55

I know it's not a large sum of money but it's still 25 pounds to me!

Thanks, hopefully they will respond but nothing so far..will give them a chance and if not hopefully ebay will help

Ebay will charge fees if they cancel a sold item which is why they are trying to offer you alternatives (rubbish ones)

Marshmellowx3 · 17/03/2021 09:59

ah i didn't know that. Yeah the ones they sent me were not great and looked in a lot worse condition than the four that were in the original bundle. They also would not fit my daughter who is not a size 3 lol

Yeah they shouldn't be surprised when you say no thanks I want my refund!!

Ladymouse · 17/03/2021 10:20

@PlanetPuddle

You don't get charged on Ebay if you cancel an order. Ebay just gets you to state why you want to cancel e.g Item no longer available or buyer asked to cancel.

There is an option on your account OP to cancel the item. If you go onto purchases and click on the item and more options it will say cancel item.

OldEvilOwl · 19/03/2021 08:38

Ask for a refund

willibald · 19/03/2021 08:39

Don't let it lie. Get your money back.

Piffle11 · 19/03/2021 09:19

As Ladymouse says, the seller will not be charged if she cancels the sale. There is an option to say that the item is no longer available – and in this case, this is true. You have agreed to buy something that she can no longer provide. Request the sale is cancelled and get your money back. It’s really simple to do: I have sold things and then people - for whatever reason - have change their minds, and I have just cancelled the sale. There is no point in messing around, because eBay does tend to side with the buyer.
