To want time to myself too much?

I'm a mum to teens so they spend a lot of time in their rooms or asleep, I spend time with them when I can or when they want to but lately I just want to be alone?! Evenings I'm itching for dh to go to bed so I can have lounge to myself, nice glass of wine, chocolate and my favourite things on TV, is this normal? Is it years of being in high demand as a mum now I am wanting this time? Is it because dh and I are together in the house every day since the pandemic began as working at home ?
Is this normal ? Probably should knock the nightly glass of wine on the head but im so enjoying that and me time?

The number of grumps this has caused my OH because he would gladly sit and watch like 5 episodes of a TV show when the kids go to bed but I only want to watch 2 and go to bed and read instead lol.

I find my family too loud. Both WFH. 2 kids under 5. OH learning to play the guitar and constantly singing or humming. I just need quiet lol. I love a Sunday afternoon when he decides to take them to the park with his brother and neices 🙈

This is why I live on my own. I love time with friends & family but the thought of having other people living in my flat.... no. Just no!

Id always dreamed of my own little 1 bed house I could escape to for a weekend sometimes or even overnight, just me, wine, candles, tv and kindle.
I sometimes dream of staying a night in the Premier Inn down the road to be alone !!!

Mu husband recently changed roles so he doesn't do late shifts anymore and whilst I love our more structured evening routine (ie having him there for dinner and bedtime stress lol) I totally get what you mean. I used to love that couple hours after dinner when it was just me!

I used to love my days in the house alone if i wasnt out working, even if doing housework as you say. Havent had that for a year now with both of us working from home and teens in the house.

Same here - I often stay up after DH has gone to bed so I can catch up on Married At First Sight, drink wine & snack to my heart’s content! Love alone time.

Cloudyrainsham · 17/03/2021 09:48

Nope. I’m on my own most of the day but still love the evenings. Like you I’ve got teens who I rarely see but look forward tom10pm when husband goes to bed and I can watch to tv on my own.

Cloudyrainsham · 17/03/2021 09:49

@Flowers24 - we have a caravan. I love the weekends when everyone else wants to stay home! I go alone and do pretty much nothing all weekend 😂
