Just curious whether it’s only me that feels this way!

It's made me really wish I lived by the sea (but I've always fancied that anyway!)

Chimeraforce · 16/03/2021 16:11

Yes. I realised how much I detest being on a school road.

Also building houses next door which has been awful and if we get shit neighbours will be even more awful.

Also surgery on same road is a vax centre so traffic and parking is horrific all week long along with school runs and parents queueing outside my front.

Ghastly. Dunno how the hell we'll sell the fucker though. Stuck here few more years until child leaves shitty catchment secondary.

No more than it did before. We were trying to buy a house before COVID (one offer accepted, then fell through, many more offers made) and still trying to buy one now.

I wish everyone else from London who suddenly decided that they need a detached house with land and agricultural buildings in South West (to do what with? I have no idea) would drop that dream and go back where they came from though.

Not one bit, indeed happier to be where I am more than ever.

Yes, so we moved last August.

Loved our last home so much, still miss things about it, but with me wfh and DP furloughed for 3 months, it was too tiny as a traditional 2 up 2 down ( no hall, tiny bathroom extension) tiny dark courtyard, in a village but right on the road that had trucks in and out of mini industrial estate, barking dogs one side, building work creating noise and dust opposite. It became unbearable.

Moved into more rural area only 20 minutes drive away, got a house twice the size with massive garden for only 15% more rent, lots more footpaths, and lovely and quiet. I think it saved my sanity and our relationship.

I'm moving in 2 weeks, so yes Grin

grassisjeweled · 16/03/2021 19:01

Hahhah, not a chance. House up the road just sold for 100 k above the asking price, it's all good news

DrunkBetch · 16/03/2021 22:00

Not area, but it's made us realise we need more space sooner than we thought so we started looking. Hoping to complete before the stamp duty holiday ends.

yoyo1234 · 16/03/2021 22:14

Yes

kathmacc · 16/03/2021 22:18

I live in Zone 4 North London and absolutely love where we live - we really do know all our neighbours/shopkeepers etc -can be in Kings Cross in 22 minutes- but live next to open extensive parkland -so lucky!

KeyboardWorriers · 16/03/2021 22:18

The opposite, it's made me grow to feel like where we live is "home" - we only moved here a couple of years ago.

I have really started to appreciate the countryside and coast on our doorstep.

It has made me desperately want to redecorate the house though. We haven't got round to it since moving in and now I am sick of the sight of the previous owners decor! But I am too indecisive so still haven't decided what to replace it with...
