Vinted?

Posting for traffic here. Has anyone on here used Vinted? Is it as easy as it suggests it is? I've got loads of good quality clothes that the DC have outgrown, and with charity shops closed I want shut of it all.
Thanks.

I've just started using it. Seems good so far. I've been trying to price things to sell, and the only slightly annoying feature is that you can't set an end date for the items to post. I think having a deadline can encourage a buyer to purchase.

Be interesting to hear others experiences, and any hints & tips!

From a buyers POV I Love it! Use it a lot for the kids as they grow like weeds but like certain brands (bloody peer pressure 🤣). Can get some bargains!

I use vinted all the time to buy and sell. As long as you don’t over price things they tend to sell fairly quickly. It’s so easy to use! I found it better for selling clothes, especially the kids, rather than Facebook and shpock.
I have seen lots of sellers using hashtags to get more views on their items but I haven’t tried this yet.

Just started using it - no problem so far. However - their size guide and postage costs are very odd - small parcel covers most things.

Only as a buyer, I love it without all the auction/counting down nonsense

I have just started using it - much prefer it to ebay!!

BertieBotts · 15/03/2021 19:52

Yep, I use it loads! It's great IME - much better than ebay for the seller's perspective. And I like it to browse as a buyer as well. I get some really nice bits on there.

I agree ignore the postage thing they offer and just calculate your own postage costs per item. It quickly becomes second nature and is not that hard to do. Unless you live really close to a drop off point of their cheapest option, then that's worth doing as they give you a discount. For me it's much cheaper and easier just to pop the item in the postbox in a normal envelope.

I think the size guide for postage is based on adult clothes. Baby and toddler clothes are much smaller.

Do have it attached to an email account you check regularly. You can have things sitting up there for months and then suddenly they sell and you only have 5 days to dig it out of storage, package it and post it.

And some people can be rude just like every selling site.

DocMarteens · 28/03/2021 17:22

I'm trying it at the moment and like that I don't have to relist things and pay fees if they don't sell. I've probably priced too high but I think I can reduce the price if I really want rid.

My teen and her friends use it all the time. I'm not in the Uk so can't speak for the British one but here there's a queue outside the post office in school break time as all the youngsters send off their vinted parcels. I think it's great and it's saving £££ and the planet.
