For any of those people I’d like properly handmade, original gifts. None of the over produced rubbish that seems to be everywhere at the moment, like wire or framed cheesy slogans, bunting, or anything where the seller has just printed words on something. I would however pay reasonable money for handmade jewellery with proper gemstones, homemade organic candles, homemade bags etc.

A tree made out of pompoms

When you say "business" is this a fbook marketplace venture?

VodselForDinner · 13/03/2021 20:41

Gin globe with their name written on the side in glitter.
A mini pizza box filled with jellies from god knows where.
Something tasteful made of lopsided Scrabble tiles in an Ikea frame.

Oh please let it not be another fb ‘business’. I wouldn’t buy anything from there.

Things with words are a bit naff these days. Sorry if that offends anyone, but they've had their day.
Pretty pot plants would go down well.
Maybe a gorgeous tea cup and saucer with an exclusive/up market tea plus artisan biscuits.
Environmentallly made/sourced scented candle.
Ethical hand creams/body lotions/bath potions.
Wax melts plus a burner or suspended chamber plus tea light.

Your grandmother Calendar, diary, book, chocolates, seasonal flowers, food or drink from the farmer's market
Your aunt toiletries, chocolates, socks, scarf, household items (from a list)
Your best friend Don't exchange presents
A friend Don't exchange presents
Your kids teacher as a thank you for between 10 and 25 pounds You've got to be kidding, this is our budget between adult family members. A card.

Absolutely anything and everything that says ‘live, laugh, love’ or! ‘This house runs on hopes and dreams’

MuddleMoo · 13/03/2021 22:18

A hamper of antibacterial spray, wipes and gloves. Maybe with a mask thrown in for good measure)

Anoisagusaris · 13/03/2021 22:23

Books
Wine
Flowers
Nice hand soap/cream

Turnedouttoes · 13/03/2021 22:24

To be honest it really depends on the recipient. I hate giving anything generic so no hand creams, candles, boxes of chocolates etc unless it’s something they’ve specifically requested. A few examples of gifts I’ve sent recently -

Best friend - a lemon tree
Grandma - a photo in a frame of family and a stack of Take a Break and other trashy magazines which she loves
Friends - beautiful Anthropologie mug with their initial on

Ilovemaisie · 13/03/2021 22:26

I would ask them if there is anything particular they want. In my family we rarely buy random stuff as gifts - we ask each other what we want.

Krazynights34 · 13/03/2021 22:28

Plants
Original artwork
No FB hamper attempts
Not pieces of shit that no-one knows what to do with

grandmother - afternoon tea/lunch/show
Your aunt -as above
Your best friend - dinner, drinks out
A friend - as above
Your kids teacher - vouchers for local cafe

Basically time and experiences, rather than "stuff"

Howshouldibehave · 14/03/2021 22:28

I would be unlikely to buy all of those people something from the same person’s business.

Grandma/aunt-clothing, jewellery, plants.
Friend- wine, flowers, maybe something like a mug/glass (from a particular shop), nice socks from a particular brand, specific chocolates/cake they like.
Teacher-generally wine.

What sort of things will your business sell?

ChocOrange1 · 14/03/2021 22:36

Surely it depends on the person?
For my best friend I would be most likely to buy her an "experience" like a trip to a spa or an afternoon tea, or a cool kitchen gadget because she likes that sort of thing.

For a friend, it depends which friend and what they're in to.

I don't buy presents for my aunts or grandparents. I guess for my grandma, probably something with the great grandchildren on like a calendar or photo frame.

For a teacher between £10 to £25, probably nice chocolates and flowers, or stationery
