To increase my prices?

I have recently started selling limited edition prints or my drawings on Etsy. So far going well - been doing it 8 weeks - average income £200 a week, sold about 9 a week.

I popped on here earlier this week (for some help with some retail advice as been approached by a local shop for them to sell them) and several people said I was undercharging. Several people IRL (not friends/family) have also said the same. So I need to try and gauge if I need to put my prices up. Often too low a price can be as off putting as too high a price.

I sell currently at
A5 - £15.00
A4 - £17.50
A3 - £25.00

Prints are Gilcee/Fine Art quality with certificate of authenticity.
Postage is included.

General consensus is I should raise prices to more like
A5 - £20
A4 - £25
A3 - £30

I have attached a couple of photos of the kind of stuff I do.

So, I know they won't be everyone's taste. But If you could pretend you did like them - or that they would be a perfect gift for your sister because she loves cows/hares/boxing- what would you be willing to pay?

First time at enabling voting.
YABU - keep to £15.00 -£25.00 depending on size
YANBU increase to £20.00-£35.00 depending on size.

Any other pricing comments welcome.

Thank you

Undercharging. People who go on Etsy are actually put off sometimes by people who don’t charge enough as they think the quality might be crap. My DH does an Etsy shop as a hobby and has raised his prices by 30% over time and what he found was there was an initial dip in orders and then it went back to normal. Each product is made to order so he felt he needed to value his time.

Not sure what the selling fees are like on etsy.

You say postage is included, so I would certainly up your prices.

Just out of interest, what kind of prices do other sellers sell similar items for?

I don't see the examples of your work. I've recently started an etsy shop myself and it's been an interesting experience so far.
As a buyer and seller on etsy I'm struck by the importance of the packaging and presentation of the products. There's a real cost to this in terms of time and materials but it's what sets the shops apart. I think focusing on this and increasing your prices to accommodate it would help. You're offering free postage also which is no small cost.Could you try a few prints with paid postage to see how buyers react.

I can't see your photos, but a quality A3 giclee art print of a limited number with certificate of authenticity I'd expect to be at around £35 - £40 unframed. A4 £25-£30 and A5 about £20. Postage would not be included.

I don't like it when people sell items cheaply, it just undercuts the people who set proper prices who are desperately trying to make a living from their craft.

Don't forget that once you set retail prices, the shop will expect to buy them at half that price, so if your trade price for an A5 print is £10, how would you feel about that?

Sorry chaps - started 2 threads in error (obviously better at charcoal and pastels than tech). Other thread here. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4190855-To-increase-my-prices?watched=1&msgid=105519670#105519670
