Late birthday cards AIBU

I have a very small family which means not many birthday cards on special occasions, that's absolutely fine in itself but one of the two older relatives me and my DC have has a habit of always sending one late. It's looking like they haven't bothered this year.

AIBU to think if you can't be bothered to drop a card in on time for then you might aswell not bother? What use is a birthday card two weeks later.

I don't think I've ever had a card from my dsis on time. I find it funny tbh, but I still appreciate the effort. So what if she can't get her act together to send it in time, it's just a card ffs!

I do feel with kids you really must get it right if you can, adults it’s less of a big deal but if everyone slacked off on cards then having just one or two to open on your birthday wouldn’t be fun. Adding in your follow up post, you’re definitely not BU to feel cross about it - some people care about this stuff, some people don’t but you don’t get to police the sending of others and then not deliver yourself.

Oh and happy birthday and I’m sorry for your loss Flowers I hope you can find a way to enjoy the day x

Sigh. It's a piece of coloured paper.
Try and enjoy your birthday.

Our post lady told me that she was delivering Christmas cards in February as some areas were so behind because of Covid.

Depends how you view cards. I see cards as someone saying "I was thinking of you" and I'm happy that they did, even if they thought about my birthday the week after it happened.

What other uses does a birthday card have?
