Has anyone experienced this? It was confirmed today I have one it started after a lumber puncture I had 9 weeks ago!! It’s absolute torture the pressure in my head is unreal. Blood patch next week to try and stop it

I had my baby on the 5/3/21 and got the headache instantly after birth - came home and tried to settle it with pain killers but no luck and was back in hospital for 2 days on bed rest and fluids but still nothing so had a blood patch - this didn’t work but came home anyway as was desperate to see my babies - went back in on the Tuesday and had a second blood patch which worked... thank god!! I’ve been left with back ache and horrid nerve shooting pain in my back and legs when I stand up but honestly will take that over how bad my head was! I’m now just on tender hooks about doing anything to dislodge e clot and every time my head hurts I think it’s back!! Sorry to jump on but doesn’t anyone know how long it has to be before I can start cleaning or not walking around rigid in fear of messing it up and being back to square one... they say 6 weeks of no coughing or straining!!

Emmy - sounds exactly like my experience. The shooting pains lasted 4 weeks for me but gradually reduced over that period. It was worse on standing up, I'd have to pause for a few seconds for the pain to pass and driving was impossible initially.

I wasn't told anything about being careful for weeks though and rode my horse 2 weeks after the blood patch!

The pain in my legs has now gone but very low at the bottom of my back is hideous upon standing - defiantly worse in the mornings but does go on all day. 4 weeks with it reducing I think I can handle so fingers crossed it’s the same for me!

It’s been a week on Tuesday since the successful
Patch so Hopefully things seem more normal as the weeks go on.

I think the issue is - they know the problem and how to treat it but everyone’s healing is different and how likely the clot is to dislodge is different so the recovery is a grey area!
