unreasonable colleague back at work

I work in the public sector, with disabled people. We have a colleague who is utterly appalling and no one wants to work with her. She does whatever she can to get out of work, has been investigated for making serious allegations and threats about ‘her work colleagues’ online (don’t know what the outcome was but she said she’s ‘out to get us back’) and off ‘sick’ for over a year, on and off. Our manager says he is unwilling for her to return to work. But now we have found out she is back – acting as if nothing has happened and she’s perfect (as she does). Is there anything we can do?

I’d just be watching her like a hawk and report her to your boss if she steps out of line. Beyond that, I don’t think there’s much you can do I’m afraid, although I could possibly be wrong.

If the manager doesn't want her back at work he needs to set the wheels in motion for her dismissal. There is nothing you can do unless you are also a manger or work in HR.

Unfortunately no op hr won't disclose details of her case just keep a log of anything else that happens

Log any incidents with manager and HR.

Thank you, I guess that's all we can do, infuriating as it is! But we will x
