Has drinking extra water given me a prolapse ?

I started a week ago the drink 650ml of water on waking ( due to feeling dehydrated in the mornings) and then having a cup of decaf tea. And I've realised that's about the time my bits started to feel funny. Initially a bit just uncomfortable, like my pants were too small or twisted and then itchy, needing to wee a lot. The itch is totally gone and now I can basically feel a ball type thing in the middle of the vaginal opening. Oh god. I don't have a hand mirror, prob for the best. I did consider a UTI initially, but no pain on weeing and have also been straining for number two, my diet has been shocking ( and no I'm not a poo troll, I've been on here years and post a lot, but name change)! And now this thing is there in my vagina, no pain, just I can feel it like a mini ballSad

Ok so I've had two big babies, youngest is 1 and is heavy. I've been slacking on the pelvic floor exercises after initially being very good to stop leaking after birth. I initially was gently working out, but I was so exhausted and did loose the baby weight, but a stone has sneaked on, so I'm a bit overweight. No longer working out, still bf at including at night, hence waking feeling dehydrated. Not been leaking still, but having a lot of urgency past week, especially after walking, but drinking the water maybe doesn't help. I guess the damage is done ? Can I come back from this, what the hell do I do. Oh can I tell what type of prolapse or do I need to be referred to somewhere??

Does anyone have experience on this can it go back like a hernia popping in and out ? I can't feel the ball I could feel yesterday, if anything I feel like I've strained something and yes I will go to the doctors, I will call Monday. I'm wondering if it's the bladder one as I've been needing to wee so much, seems there are different types of prolapse.

As majesty palm says you really need a GP to diagnose this for you as there are an array of possibilities. If this worries you maybe ask for the practice nurse ?

I've finally managed a phone appointment what the point of that is with this kind of issue and now the doctor will see me Friday - Hallelujah . I've been feeling better then worse and I have no idea, whether it is or isn't a prolapse. I can't see a lump and have taken a few awkward photos on my phone, so I assume it must be my vaginal wall sagging Envy I've stopped the water guzzling and changed to sipping.

However doctor Google seems to say these things are somewhat affected by breastfeeding and I'm still feeding my toddler. I feel very down about it, so actually can't wait to see the doctor, despite how cringy it is.

Glad you've managing to get seen. Yes breastfeeding means you are in a oestrogen deficient state so is similar to why women who enter peri/menopause often find a prolapse comes to light (oestrogen starts to naturally deplete). Symptoms of a prolapse are often worse towards the end of the day, simply due to gravity. If you can spend some of the time with your feet up (perhaps when you are breastfeeding?) that will help.

I thought I'd update, I went to the doctors and yes it is a prolapse. My bladder is coming through creating a bulge, so it's a Cystocele prolapse he said. I doubt the water drinking helped, but mainly it's weaken pelvic floor muscles, so I'm on it now. The thing is I now need to go and clean the house whilst my youngest naps, so much much time to rest sadly.

It’s important that you have time to rest and do your exercises if it’s going to help. Don’t let family life/ guilt get in the way of that.

Prolaspes have different grades. I would get to the gp sharpish

ohhmygosh · 16/03/2021 15:43

@Lorieandrews I saw the doctor, he said it's a mild prolapse, he didn't grade it. Sometimes it feels worse and then I can't feel it or I'm not thinking about it I suppose.

@CausingChaos2 I know, it's just I can't leave everything forever unfortunately. I wish 🥴
