One minute(s) or ten minutes?

My friend sent me this today saying ‘You’d think they could at least proofread a poster about reading’. I kept staring at it, wondering why I couldn’t see the mistake. I asked her what I was missing and she replied, ‘It says one minutes!’

I said I could see why she thought that, but that the clock is supposed to be a zero - meaning it actually says 10 minutes. She thinks I’m wrong and the clock is just a clock. I say there’s no way a school is encouraging parents to read to their children for one minute(s) a day!

YABU - She’s right; that’s just a clock
YANBU - You’re right; the clock is a zero

One minute(s) or ten minutes?

Its 10, with the click as the 0.
Even the hands on the clock are suggesting a 10 min time frame.

LaceyBetty · 25/02/2021 16:41

Definitely a zero. No one would consider reading for 1 minute a thing.

@YoComoManzanas

Oh god is it world book day again? Tell me its before the 8th of April so I don't need to fork out for costumes.
It is before 8th but our school is moving it back a week so the children can still dress up in school. DD has been planning her outfit ever since they announced it. At least it's made her really keen to be back in school again!

It's also clearly 10 minutes. If it was 1 it would say minute instead of minutes.

It's the first week back.

Oh yeah, I saw 1 minute too!!!

But the others are right... When I look closer, it is 10 minutes!

hatedbytheDailyMail · 25/02/2021 16:51

But it's poorly designed and looks like 1 minutes

It isn't and it doesn't.

Annabell80 · 25/02/2021 16:51

10 minutes although my DC2 would have preferred one minute when she was at primary school.

islockdownoveryet · 25/02/2021 16:53

I agree 10 minutes.

VanillaAndOrange · 25/02/2021 17:24

It is 10 minutes - I know something about this campaign. But I agree it could be misread.

TillyTopper · 25/02/2021 17:27

Definitely 10 minutes, not much you can do with a story in 1 minute either!

midnightstar66 · 25/02/2021 17:28

I think your friend probably knew die she'd got it wrong once you pointed it out but is too embarrassed to admit it 😆

crazylikechocolate · 25/02/2021 18:13

Clearly the clock is a 0 making it 10 mins
