To think my life is buggered

Bad credit and going around in a vicious circle of no no no to getting a small mortgage.
I have spoken to specialist bad credit mortgage brokers who say the £10.000 I have needs to be doubled as it's not enough due to my credit history.
Also been told minimum income requirement is 18000 and I only earn 14000.
I have kept up with rent payments for over 3 years and have not taken any credit in the last several years but still nobody will lend to me.
Up to date with everything but I'm still stuffed and too old and worn out to change it.

I’m even more confused now, so you are on the mortgage with your ex which has 5 years left, so presumably was taken out what 20years ago? How long did you live there with him for? Long enough to have a child, pay council tax and do some home improvements... you then split up and you moved out (with the child?) leaving him in situ in the family home but you haven’t been taken off the mortgage or recieved any money To buy you out? Has he even paid any child maintenance? This is quite frankly crazy, you are letting this man bully you and walk all over you

I knew a woman who was very passive and still had her name on a mortgage with her ex. She had however managed to get another mortgage. She almost lost her home though because her ex was declared bankrupt. She was chased for the debt, she took paid legal advice and did manage to get the amount negotiated down but almost had to sell her house, she was incredibly fortunate that her Mother assisted her with a loan.

You need to sort out the issues with your current mortgage and forget trying to buy until this is done.
