To try Ozempic?

Lots of coverage on this in the news lately. With lockdown lifting, its triggered my "shit I may need to see people in 3D again" response.

Anyone thought of or tried ozempic? Keen to hear about real world experiences.

Bump

It's a prescription drug isn't it? So I suppose it would be up to your GP or can you just ask to go on it?
I agree it sounds good but how easy is it to get on it?

Bells3032 · 19/03/2021 20:19

I've tried it. I. Know a few people who used it with great results. I just got terrible stomach cramps and the constant taste of rotten eggs in my throat. Didn't lose any actual weight and didn't suprress my apetite at all

Bells3032, which website did you buy it from, if you don't mind me asking?

gwenneh · 19/03/2021 21:27

I’ve been on it for about 18 months. There’s a lot of buzz about it now but really it is not all that. I weigh about a stone less. My appetite is objectively smaller but I never had a big appetite to start, just failed to listen to it!

I haven’t had any side effects from it like described though. None at all, really.

Is this the injection one? Saxenda? Or the blood sugar one?

I wouldn't; it's quite a new medicine and might be linked to thyroid cancer in humans (it is in animal studies). It's been linked to increasing the risk of pancreatitis. Also it needs to be stopped 2 months before ttc.
