To cancel/postpone holiday

Hi all,

Bit of context: I have 2yo DD and due baby 2 any day now (hopefully!)

Early last year I booked a week long holiday in Cumbria with Haven Holidays for both kids, me and DH thinking things wouldn't be as bad as they were however with such a delay in things opening, infection rates still high and the fact we'll have a newborn with next to no immune system until (s)he is 6 months old... Would you cancel or postpone the holiday or go anyway?

YABU- I'd go
YANBU- I would cancel or postpone

When is it booked for?

Beaniecats · 24/02/2021 12:44

What date is it for?

TeaPiglet · 24/02/2021 12:51

Sorry haha 16th April for 7 days

Notaroadrunner · 24/02/2021 12:53

I'd postpone it.

BramStoker · 24/02/2021 12:57

I'm not sure I would want to be in the Lake District with a toddler and a newborn in April tbh, if the weather is bad you'll be very limited to what you can do. You can't even go inside a pub.

Will Haven even be open in April?

RuggeryBuggery · 24/02/2021 12:58

I thought self catering wasn’t allowed to open by then but maybe I’m wrong

Thehop · 24/02/2021 13:06

Postpone

Just because nothing will be open for bad weather days.

LIZS · 24/02/2021 13:10

Self contained accommodation for one household permitted in April. With young dc I'd probably reschedule if that is an option.

Blockedoff · 24/02/2021 13:21

No, it will be miserable if it's wet and no indoor activities.

Such a shame, can you defer?

Beaniecats · 24/02/2021 16:58

I would reschedule I think
