Wisdom tooth

Posting for traffic, I'm in pain!

Changed user name

Help any dentists out there. Had lower wisdom tooth pulled yesterday and am in agony today. Emergency dentist so can't go back, would rather avoid it anyway. Think I have dry socket from the online leaflet, will it heal itself if I grin and bare the pain?

(Might be able to get stronger painkillers off my gp as this is easier than an nhs dentist in a pandemic (or normal times).)

Oh keep taking the pain killers. Too soon to stop. Its gonna be a few days yet before we stop.

I took one paracetamol at 6:30am then 2 at 2:30 at work. I was ok-ish as i was busy. Still hurt though. Had some fresh fries and tinned ham (its what i craved!) for tea & 2 nurofen.

I called the surgery this morning as i had a look in my mouth and could see a white thing. Dental nurse told me that is normal and part of the healing process. Still hurts but im absolutely shit scared of this dry socket. She said if its getting worse tomorrow or Friday to call again and they will fit me in just to look at it.

I feel your pain OP. My wisdom tooth removal was botched and I got a severe infection and suffered lock jaw for about 2 weeks. Lived on soup through a straw.

To be fair the painkillers do say to take 3 times per day, not as required so I'll pick back up on those to prevent the swelling. I was getting too cocky!

Oh @AramintaLee I cannot imagine the pain you went through. Sounds awful. 😔

Lets hope tomorrow brings less pain! The dun is supposed to shine and I fancy a little stroll at lunchtime with my colleague. Ill wear my mask to prevent any draught!
