Inspired by the tarrot cards thread.

I think I would let my children mess about with tarrot cards but I would always say no to ouija boards. Not sure why. Its the only thing I couldn't get peer pressured into as a teenager Hmm
I'm not woo (well not really woo) but I think that ouija boards would be a 'my house my rules' situation...

yABU ouija boards aren't really going to doom you
yanbu don't mess with that!!

I was once a paranormal investigator and we tried the Ouija board - there was some movement with the planchette but I suspect it was one of the people using the board. So we blindfolded everyone using the board and just before they were to start, we turned the board around so it would be different to what they thought it was. We got absolutely nothing which pretty much tells me that the results are user operated.

I saw online a rug with a pattern of the Ouija board on it. I'd loved to get one of those!

This all sounds like the satanic panic around Dungeons and Dragons in the US in the 1980s.

It's a novelty toy, best taken with vodka.

Groliffethedragon...nothing wrong with reversals per se, they provide very useful information provided they are interpreted correctly. I would imagine that they may alarm a child however. This is why I would recommend a child do tarot without the reversals, or angel cards, which are lovely and very positive and affirming.

Just to clarify, by child, I'm referring to an older teenager
