To say sod it and start on the Baileys

Fed up.

It's cold and rainy, I'm fed up of staying positive for months and months.

I have really tried. I've been exercising every day, getting outside, keeping busy with some online learning as well as working part-time. I've tried to keep eating healthily, cook from scratch, keep up with housework etc but have just had enough.

I feel moany and whiny so have poured myself a large Baileys.

I darent drink tonight, got to be up driving for work in morning. But tomorrow night... Dh working late... As soon as I am home I think it will be a G and no T. 😁

I've not had a Baileys for years! I remember the bottle in my parents' drinks cabinet - it always looked so sophisticated (& tasted yummy whenever I took a sneaky nip!).

What is it about today? I’m normally really upbeat, eat well, exercise every day.
Today I’ve had to drag myself out twice to walk the dogs, had a nap on the sofa and started on the KitKat Mini eggs in the fridge.

Oh wow, I haven't even heard of kit kat mini eggs. They sound lush.

AND they’re gluten free! As are the bunnies. Haven’t eaten KitKats for years cos I can’t eat wheat. I’m going to have to stock up.

Have an 'Irelands Tears' cocktail. 2 parts Baileys to 1 part whiskey. Lush.

That reminds me of Sheridans liquor. Anyone had it? You have to float a white liquor on top of a black one. My grandma used to get quietly but steadily drunk on it. Which was allowed as she was Mrs Sheridan.

Ooh yes I used to love Sheridan's!

I've got a litre bottle of Lidl Deluxe version of Baileys calling me name. Never got drunk due to dry January. Does it go off?

I like original Baileys too. My ideal would be in a cosy chair curled up with a book and rain on the roof.

Can I have one, I feel the same?

I've been saying 'fuck it' and pouring myself a large drink/ordering a takeaway/eating chocolate and quite frankly whatever the hell I want since the first lockdown.

So my new 'fuck it' was investing in a personal trainer to get rid of the two stone!! So please pour a large one in my honour and enjoy it while I try to be good for 14 weeks!

There is no such thing as Irish "whisky* - if it is Irish it is "whiskey"

OP: forget the "sod it" just get started and enjoy! But, please, only the original, none of these fancy stuff flavours or something pretending to be the real thing.
I can highly reommend giving up milk in your morning coffee and replacing it with a splash of Baileys - it will set you up for the day!

I'm breastfeeding a four month old but even I've just had 2 glasses of wine in a row for the first time since I fell pregnant in jan 2021 (also known as BC - before COVID)
This week is just too much. Pour away.
(Don't worry haters, I had it immediately after a feed and she's in bed now and won't wake til after midnight earliest... second time I'm blessed with a sleeper)

I'm on a diet and exercising daily; I've been ill for a week and not able to exercise so today I thought sod it and have just had a kebab and a cream cake! Must be one of those days

And a glass of red wine to wash it down, got to be done!

I love Baileys! I had quite a lot on my birthday right before the November lockdown so can’t quite look at it again yet!

There must be something in the air today with so many of us feeling the same.
