I have to go into hospital tomorrow for emergency surgery (to have my gallbladder removed) and it means leaving my 11 week old baby. I had to be away from him for about 7 hours today for tests etc and it was hell. I am dreading it with every fibre Sad

That’s really useful to know, thank you! I hadn’t realised that at all.

@AnnLouiseB my pleasure! It is something I am really passionate about supporting in my patients and I go mad when someone is told to pump and dump when they don’t need to!

Hope the surgery and recovery go smoothly for you x

I hope there’s someone like you on my team today ❤️

I had my gallbladder removed when my baby was 5 months and I was breastfeeding. I expressed lots of milk for him and he was absolutely fine and like everyone else has said I felt like a new person afterwards. It was amazing to get rid of the pain I’d been suffering for years! Hope it all goes smoothly for you!

You will feel amazing, trust me. Baby will be warm and snuggled and loved x check where you are on the list and ask to be early as it makes coming home the same day more likely Smile

There must be a bit of a theme with new mums having gall bladders out!
Ds was 6 weeks old when I went in as an emergency for 4 days. Then went back in when he was 8 weeks old for 1 night to have it out. My mum had to take him to docs for his first jabs.
You'll feel loads better when it's out.

do they not admit breastfed babies with mothers? I suppose covid wouldn’t allow it
