To link Ella pouches to a good nights sleep ?

So my 9 month old DD's sleep is inconsistent at best, except when my daughters nanny has her at her house two days a week (we work from home, so its a nice break). The night following a day with her is always glorious, and always she has an Ella's pouch at lunch and dinner, and she eats every bite.

When she is with me or at home we do baby led weaning or purees I make, with lots of veg etc, which she never has much of and the sleep is always shite.

Thoughts? Any comments on the link between food and sleep? Or pouches?

I don't know about sleep but DTs ate ellas pouches with absolute relish, they always looked for more. My homemade Anna bel Karmel stuff mostly got thrown on the floor.

Nope, everything is a phase, even the good things. You’ll think ah we’ve finally cracked sleep and then they will go through another phase of waking up all the time. They don’t properly get it until 12 months. Sorry OP. A good routine is the only thing that works in the long run.

Yes- if you put the peaches one in champagne it makes Bellini

6 of those and you get a great nights sleep

Sounds like the pouches fill her up more than the home made veg puree. Combined with the excitement of spending time with other children (guessing as they have a nanny). Tired out, well fed baby = good sleep?

It could definitely be the food, but also the change of scene and being worn out after an exciting day with the nanny. That possibly has more impact than the food. East way to check - try the pouches for a few days and see if it makes a difference. If not, she’s probably just really tired after a day out.

I think looking for patterns can drive you crazy.
But surely just give the nanny puree tofeed her one day, then try pouches at home another day and see what happens.

I used to give Porridge at bed time. When ds was that age. That definitely helped with sleep.

My children always sleep better when they have been at childcare. Ita not the food, it's the stimulation. He same way I feel more tired if I've been in the office rather than being at home even if I do roughly the same jobs. Being somewhere different and with someone different is more stimulating and more tiring. First few weeks at school they go insane with tiredness!

ChristOnAPeloton · 14/02/2021 21:02

Bit awkward, but yes- it’s entirely possible that she doesn’t like your cooking and sleeps better when she has a full stomach from an Ella’s pouch.

I would imagine it's the routine plus the excitement of the other children. Maybe she naps too long at lunch?
