Sorry for using AIBU, I couldn't find the specific topic for my question.

We will be moving to the UK within the next few months and have no clue really about places which would fit our needs. I would appreciate if anyone could help.

DH will be wfh but will go into the office situated around London Bridge.
DS (5yo) - looking for a good independent school.
I will be a sahm for a while with DD (1yo)
Monthly Income for Rent - 3000 - 3500 Max

Areas we are looking at are Richmond and Kew.
We have always lived in city places so it seems like Richmond most likely suits, BUT it seems that KEW has more independent schools.
Its also often described as a village, im not sure if its vastly different to Richmond.

Please if anyone could give me a bit more information, with more experience and things I should know. Its difficult trying to make a decision from thousands of miles away. Thanks Again!

Richmond and Kew are lovely areas of London but a fairly long and tedious commute to London Bridge (in my opinion). Of the two Richmond offers a faster route into the City. Completely doable if you are both wedded to the area but a pain in the backside if you are trying to be home to do a pick up, join your young family for dinner etc.
Very close to Heathrow if that's a factor but not a lot of international business travel for a long while I'd suggest.
What sort of age range for school is your child? Borderline heading to secondary or only really starting.

There is a property section and an education section on Mumsnet, the search function is also v useful as this is not an unusual question.

Good schools guide will be useful but your spouses company may also offer a relocation advisor who can help you navigate the British school system.

Dulwich. Direct trains to London Bridge abs great independent schools

Richmond and Kew are not much more than a mile apart, so I wouldn’t have thought independent school location would make a lot of difference.

Awful commute on the district line, I did it many years from Wimbledon.

@Aprilx thanks, I didn't know about the commute.

Another area we are considering is Hampstead.
