My DP spends at least an hour in the bathroom every morning. At the weekends it's usually more like 90 minutes. AIBU to think that's excessive?! It takes me less than 45 mins to have a shower, shave, wash my hair and blow-dry it.

Ask him if he really needs to take his phone in.

I'm as sure as I can be that he's not watching porn, wanking or messaging someone else. I use his phone/laptop all the time (he uses mine too) and I'm 99% sure I'd notice messages/porn in his browser history. It's incredibly annoying but I don't think he's doing anything he shouldn't be.

I think he's genuinely just sitting in there watching YouTube. But why he needs to do that for 50-80 minutes, ON THE TOILET, is beyond me.

I asked him/complained about it again earlier today and he says it's because he often has a bad stomach in the morning. Even when I've had terrible diarrhoea I haven't spent 80 minutes on the toilet so I told him if that's what's happening he needs to see a GP.

And to be clear, I have asked him about this before. Multiple times. He's always just said he likes to take his time in the morning and hates feeling rushed. Which I get - but 90 mins still seems excessive!

My other half takes an age on the bog, drives me up the wall. He's usually watching some sort of documentary on YouTube and forgets everything else.

To all the people saying he's watching porn, do you really think anyone, male or female, would watch porn for 90 minutes?! Do you think he's watching it for the really interesting story before he finally has a wank in the last 10 minutes or something?

There's no way in the world he's doing that for the majority of the time he's in there.

Talking to other people in secret? I know you say you would definitely knew if he was doing this but sometimes it happens and we have no idea! Its easy to delete call/browser history, have another sim ect

Like pp said turn wifi off to test his reaction but he could just use his data you could check if hes online when hes in there

He could just want some me time some people need a lot of space and the fact we are in lock down its hard to achieve that

I don’t think anyone is suggesting he’s watching porn/wanking/texting other people for the full 90 minutes. But let’s say the average person takes 45 minutes to shower, brush teeth, go to the loo, whatever, it’s easy to fill the other 45 minutes doing other stuff, whatever that stuff might be.

Sorry i went and re read your post and answered my own question. So an hour on weekdays and 90mins on the weekends i don't thinks thats excessive. does he work during week? That could be why he just wants to have a lie in and relax at the weekends

Taking until 3pm to get ready every weekend is not taking his time, it’s taking the piss.

When I was a kid I remember my dad would always take a newspaper, cigarette and a cup of tea to the loo. Pretty effing inconsiderate when there's only one loo in the house

Buy him a squatty potty and that should reduce the time dramatically 😊
