To ask what weird substitutions have been made with online shopping?

I could not remember ordering an extra loaf, not least as it was 'tasty wholemeal'?? I also had another loaf sent.

Then I realised I had ordered Warburtons 50/50 bread. So they sent me one white loaf and one wholemeal loaf.

Any similar experiences?

I ordered the valentines meal deal from Ocado today but they had sold out of the Rose Prosecco I had ordered so on my receipt they said they were substituting it for a much more expensive bottle of champagne.

However today when the order arrived, my Rose Prosecco was in there AND the Champagne AND they had also gifted me a bottle of Asti for the “inconvenience/mix up”

“Sorry for the inconvenience of a free bottle of Champagne, please have some more as an apology”

you pay for the subs with Ocado

We had one where we’d ordered a pack of size 4 nappies, and they sent a pack of size 2 nappies instead 🙄
I wouldn’t have minded too much if they’d sent nappies that were too big, because at least then the DC would have grown into them.

The best one of these I have ever heard is my friend who ordered Tampax and it was substituted with a Twix!

Bizarre isn't it- as my post above my friend got send greaseproof paper - she could probably do a tracing for her Dh and make her own card !

The thread filled up with ideas for the foil!! I suggested a slinky shiney dress but op said she would have needed more rolls of foil!!

I'm quite disappointed that my substitutes have been quite sensible!

Country life butter in place of Asda spreadable, Krackerwheat biscuits in place of cream crackers, Celebrations in place of Roses... I feel like I'm missing out!

Just this week I tried to order cumin and turmeric but asda didn't have the turmeric. Fine, I was only restocking my spices anyway but my meal plan has to be altered.
Day of order, the subs come up they subed my cumin for turmeric back to the drawing board I guess

Well, yes. I meant favourite in the literal sense. Of course its clearly better. It was like ordering a five pound note and receiving a ten pound note.

Got dog food instead of cat food when I was isolating, rang them and the guy on the phone couldn't understand the problem!

My most annoying sub was at Halloween when I'd ordered several different kinds of pumpkin for us to carve for a party we were having: a couple of giant ones, a few munchkin pumpkins, big green ones, a few classic middle-sized etc. The shopping arrived on the morning of the party.....12 butternut squash

I order size 4 pull ups and got sent newborn nappies, same shop I ordered chicken breast (fresh) and got frozen chicken nuggets. They were definitely having an off day. I lived 8 miles from the supermarket, no car so was rather mad calling Tesco, they did send a driver the following day with the replaced items and told me to keep the other stuff, as if 3 packs of newborn nappies were any use???
