Neighbours hate me

LaLaBlahBlah · 12/02/2021 21:44

My neighbours when clearing snow decided to pile it 5ft high and 12ft long on my grass against the wall of my house. There was lots of room to put it in piles on the road rather than in my garden. I said I wasn't happy about it as it will melt into
my foundations. There's no drainage.

They think I am being anti social and said them clearing snow was them doing good and me complaining creates a bad atmosphere. And I'm being sensitive as it's just snow.

Am I being totally mental here? It is my garden and against my house so why am I the baddy? There was no reason to pile it in my garden.

First things first. Know that the snow against your house is t going to cause a problem. Had there been strong winds and lots is snow, this can even naturally happen creating a snow drift. The snow doesn’t stick around once melted, doesn’t all melt in one second either so would be just like rain.

Where was the snow when they cheated it? Shared patch, shared sidewalk? Was your garden area right next to this area they cleared or did they somehow transport the snow many feet away onto your land?

If the cleared a common area if snow and your garden was right there, I’d think you’re bonkers.

If it were their own driveway abd domehoe transported the snow a good distance away onto your land, then I’d say they’re unreasonable.

Is this the same snow you mentioned in another post that they put at the side of your house and you moved it back?

Ellabellaboo2020 · 13/02/2021 10:05

I was wondering the same @RothRoth 🤔

PegasusReturns · 13/02/2021 10:12

You need a diagram- was snow removed from a communal path or their own?

lastqueenofscotland · 13/02/2021 10:41

Snow is not going to melt into your foundations?! I work in construction... that is not a thing. Work gets halted for bad weather with things left open to the elements. That’s why we use concrete when building things not dissolvable materials
honestly if you said to me to not put snow in a certain place cause it’ll melt into your foundations I’d probably have thought you were a bit thick...

ForTheLoveOfWine · 13/02/2021 10:44

I don’t expect they hate you they probably think you’re a little unhinged unless there is some massive backstory your going to drip feed

Hont1986 · 13/02/2021 10:45

Melt into your foundations? What do you do when it rains?!

Meowtha · 13/02/2021 10:55

It won't melt into your foundations.

FrankskinnerscRoc · 13/02/2021 11:09

Snow can cause damage to your foundations, & your walls can get damp. I hope you shoveled it back. Are your neighbours usually this daft?
