Car insurance cock up!!!

I've cocked up my car insurance and worried now it's going to get cancelled!!!

Today my insurance asked for proof of my NCD (ok yep got that) and a photo of my driving licence/and my named driver's license.

So I've sent those back to them....and had a look through my documents and found out that the date me/named driver passed tests are incorrect. All I can guess happened is I generated the quote on 31.12.20 and put that I'd been driving 2 years (as that would be correct when policy started) and my ND 20+ years.
So they have date passed as 31.12.18 (should be 21.01.19) and 31.12.00 (should be some date back in 80s!!)

I know I should have checked when sent but I didn't scrutinise every detail (yes iabu for that)

Has anyone had anything like this and not had their policy cancelled??

I feel sick with worrying, I need my car and insurance to get to work.

I can't see it would make any difference personally as the dates showing just look like generically computer issued dates to give a general idea.

I doubt many people can remember the exact date they passed their test. My DH can't even remember the year! 🤣

Thanks, I called them and have to wait for someone to look at the documents sent. They don't think it should make my policy be cancelled but I'm a worrier.

I'm still pretty new to driving/buying insurance and I have learnt a BIG lesson...check every piece of information on the policy!!!!

Contact them, apologise and tell them that when you checked the details you realised that the dates were wrong. Yours is only out by less than a month. Your named driver has extra years experience to those you gave, but most companies I have had insurance through use 20+ driving years as one category. I doubt it will make much difference & you may have to pay an admin charge to correct it.

I worked in car insurance for 5years. It’s really unusual to have a policy cancelled for that reason. I really wouldn’t worry. The most they will do I reckon is charge your for making a change. xFlowers
