OK, I am in NI and am gritting my teeth along with the rest of us at the huge numbers of non available items and restrictions on my online order.Tough to get more fruit and veg than I could be bothered listing. So many items with a limit such as water (4 by the way). But Smarties ffs? 1packet of Smarties? There isn't a shortage or Asda would not have let me put 6 in my basket. I don't actually want 6, just checking what the limit is and that is where I stopped. This actually may push me over the edge. What is the final straw for you. Need I point out that this is a lighthearted thread? Maybe someone in head office has noticed my Smartie consumption creeping up and stepped in to save me from myself. Now I have to catch a bus to Asda. Raging.

1Smarties 4 Pack 152G now in basket
MAX
Add 1 Smarties 4 Pack 152G to basket

Quantity can no longer be increased.

Tesco have upset me this week. They have abused my long term loyalty as a delivery saver customer by turning up without my bread and milk. And my butternut squash. There can't be a shortage of it surely :)

CuriousaboutSamphire · 12/02/2021 10:36

And @BiddyPop wins the thread Grin

DoctorHildegardLanstrom · 12/02/2021 10:39

Great Minds @YouHadMeAtWoof

mumwon · 12/02/2021 10:39

@TinyCake ? onions last a long time - I do shopping fortnightly as only 2 of us -
I get 2 bags of onions - shocked you only need 3!
(shuffles off)

LadyEloise · 12/02/2021 10:40

Well they're taking the p*ss down south because their prices have definitely gone up.

DoctorHildegardLanstrom · 12/02/2021 10:42

@TinyCake

It is driving me nuts, I now take out my loose items and have to go to the shops for those, tbh I would rather go to the shops for the carrots, then the 2 massive bags of cat litter my poor delivery driver has to carry up 27 steps.

Oh and French Onion soup is a great way to get rid of onions, I had to do mushroom soup when I asked my other half to pick up som mushrooms, without realising, we had a shitton of them in the fridge already

TinyCake · 12/02/2021 10:42

I don't usually use them. I might make onion soup..

trilbydoll · 12/02/2021 10:45

Not in NI but the item limit Tesco implemented last year is the reason I don't shop with them any more. It was almost impossible to get a slot, and when you did manage it you could only buy about 5 days of food. I'm team Asda all the way now Grin

ClinkyMonkey · 12/02/2021 11:16

I'm in NI too and, in the interests of research, I checked the online Smartie situation on my Tesco app. And 'THIS PRODUCT IS UNAVAILABLE'. So you @nicslackey have pilfered the last pack of Smarties - which mattered not a jot a few minutes ago, but now I REALLY want Smarties ....

Now, where is the nearest Asda?

BadMotherLover · 12/02/2021 11:29

This is brexit pure and simple. It is the same in England (and not just Tesco). Farage and Boris lied to us, to profit their crony mates. No tuna, no pasta sauce, no cider, it is shit.

Livelovebehappy · 12/02/2021 11:29

Bananas. So many problems recently getting bananas in my online shop. On the rare occasion I do get them, my excitement is short lived, as they’re so green that I have to nurture them in my fruit bowl for a week before they’re remotely edible.

LizzieMacQueen · 12/02/2021 11:53

What about booze OP @nicslackey, what's the availability of that?

(I want smarties now)

bloodyhairy · 12/02/2021 13:49

Ha ha, you lot must be harbouring the delusion that I'm actually a healthy eater! It's one of my kids that loves cucumber. Dipped in soy sauce. Weirdo Grin

Just checked Tesco online, and there's plenty of Smarties here. Unless you want a 4 pack!

MumW · 12/02/2021 14:05

It's impossible to make ratatouille around here. You can get either aubergines or courgettes but not both at the same time. 🙄😥

YouHadMeAtWoof · 12/02/2021 20:03

I can’t shop at Asda. Without fail they substitute at least 10 items. And they are often silly subs. Or they claim not to have anything similar. Like no butter. Really? None in the entire shop? Argh!

DoctorHildegardLanstrom · 12/02/2021 20:15

Tesco's have just gone on my hit list, they didn't have any cat food and no appropriate substitues.

If I get eaten in my sleep, I am haunting Tesco

HTH1 · 12/02/2021 20:24

I voted YABU because they are cheap in bulk on Amazon (no poxy little 4 packs for me, I last bought 12 lots of multipacks!)

nicslackey · 14/02/2021 08:18

Not to cause further distress, but Smarties are OUT OF STOCK in Asda as well. I battled through the snow to be greeted by a smartie vacuum. Went to the local butcher and consoled myself with a home made banoffi. Checked Amazon as pp suggested but I am not paying nearly 30 squid for 12 packets on principle. Well, not yet anyway. I reckon production has been diverted to Easter eggs.
