To ask if this chicken is cooked?

Ordered from a Turkish takeaway (used them many times and always been lovely food).

Got chicken thighs but I think they aren't cooked thoroughly. My DH says they look fine but I'm not sure. Google also says it is normal for thighs to be pink but I'm not sure...

What do you good people think? Do I keep eating or chuck it away and get something else to eat!?

To ask if this chicken is cooked?

That looks like it's barely seen a bit of heat! If your DH thinks it's alright then I suppose he'll be happy to eat the leftovers Hmm

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 10/02/2021 19:18

The chicken is in the bin. I ate two of the thighs as they looked OK. But the third one looked worrying...hoping my stomach is gonna be OK for work tomorrow!

@justcannotwithyou that's so interesting! I have some gin in so may have a shot of that in a bit

Not cooked and I wouldn't eat them like that. I speak as someone who loves chicken thighs and who is also not squeamish about slightly underdone chicken.

Eileen101 · 10/02/2021 19:23

Looks like it should still be clucking.

Definitely not properly cooked.

Certainly can't hurt!

Its the texture and shiny appearance that looks off. Stick it in the microwave or oven; better to be safe than sorry.

Stroppyshite · 10/02/2021 19:31

That is practically raw. Ughhh!

sandyso · 10/02/2021 19:33

Shock that's raw chicken! I feel ill just by looking at it.

crispychicken12 · 10/02/2021 19:33

That's undercooked

Katjolo · 10/02/2021 19:33

Hope you don't feel sick as a result OP.

maddiemookins16mum · 10/02/2021 19:36

Nope, it’s still ‘fleshy’.

SomersetHamlyn · 10/02/2021 19:38

God no!!.

I happily eat sashimi and steak tartare, rare steak etc. But that is RAW chicken Shock

SteamTrainAlong · 10/02/2021 19:39

Eww no that does not look cooked.

HikeForward · 10/02/2021 19:43

Very undercooked! I’d be reporting them to environmental health, serving chicken like that is dangerous!

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 10/02/2021 19:46

@SomersetHamlyn I usually have blue steak etc too so undercooked food doesn't put me about. But raw chicken is another level!

We have ordered food from there so many times and it is usually gorgeous, no problems at all. Rang the restaurant and he was very defensive about it, telling me because "it is cooked on the bone it should be pink" Confused

When my husband went to collect the food he said it looked busy. Makes me wonder how many other raw thighs they have sold tonight...

Definitely raw. I cook chicken on the bone all the time.. that is raw. Hope you don't get sick Daffodil

flossletsfloss · 10/02/2021 20:03

It's definitely not cooked BUT try not to worry. We had the same thing happen to us in a restaurant abroad and my DH had eaten some of it. I was convinced he would be ill but he never was.

Clarich007 · 10/02/2021 20:06

No way are they cooked OP.I wouldn't risk it

Natsel84 · 10/02/2021 20:08

Gosh that doesn't look good at all op.

How are you feeling ?

Sheepies · 10/02/2021 20:16

Youll probably be fine as if the other 2 were as undercooked as the 3rd that you chucked, I'm sure you wouldn't have finished them! Sometimes the flavouring can stain the meat, but I do agree that one doesn't look cooked. The fact that they offered a refund so quickly also suggests that you might not be the first one tonight!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 10/02/2021 20:18

If it went CLUCK when you stuck your fork in, it will need a tad more cooking.

That's my rule of thumb anyway.
