Contact NHS if you haven’t had Covid vaccine, over-70s are urged

The Times reports:

Over-70s who have not had a vaccine are being urged to contact the NHS for an appointment in a final drive to offer jabs to all older people by next Monday.

In a reversal of previous pleas for people to wait until they are called, the government now wants any eligible people they might have missed to get in touch this week.

Children and grandchildren are also being asked to encourage older relatives to ask for vaccinations if they have not already received it.

Anyone who has been advised to shield should also book an appointment online or through their GP if they have not already been vaccinated.

Here is the NHS link for eligible people to book online.

@Thebusiness

Not for Wales is it? My parent is waiting for an appointment but everyone else we know of a similar age, even younger, has had theirs.
If you think they should have been called already it may be worth calling GP to double check they are on the list. Some people will get lost in the system, thats why they are doing this.

The system still doesn't let CEV or CV people book without a letter inviting them to book to make an appointment which is a bit frustrating. It all seems so random- if you happen to be at the hospital then 1 day they will offer it and the next not- but no system.
