Feeling low today and have been suffering panic attacks the last two days. Have written things down as CBT says that helps:
1). Panicking as work started asking staff to vaccinate- I’m not patient facing, I’m admin but work in healthcare (not in a hospital) so getting vaccine through that route. I want the vaccine but at the same time don’t want to go head first at it as well. Just need a few weeks to prepare myself so I’m not so anxious but the pressure seems to be mounting.
2), im very anxious about Covid- I totally get it that this seems silly given my earlier point but I am and feel anxious panicky all the time
3). Worried it’ll be years before I get to physically see family - they are not in the Uk and are a 13 hour flight away
4). Feel like this mutation is not going to stop ( understand viruses do that) and we might not be able to keep up with vaccines
I feel scared and in the edge all the time- any one else out there like this? How do you calm yourself down?

I suffer with anxiety disorders too, and my main support person is in hospital atm (Non covid). I just try and distract myself as much as possible. I've never watched so much sporn in sporners corner! (A section on here in the 'In the club' section. It's popping spots kind of stuff.). I also feel better as the Dr described me some Diazepam for the anxiety whilst my support person isn't here. I haven't taken any yet but just knowing I have them makes me feel better.
Can you contact your Dr and explain what you are going through? Do you have anyone you can call and talk things over with?
As for covid, I was very scarred to get the jab too, but I had it done last Monday and it was fine! I had a sore throat when I woke up the next day but that was it.
I hope that make you feel better about it.
Best wishes. Flowers

@73kittycat73 if you don’t mind could you tell me which one you had? Pfizer or AZ? I’m 39 not sure if age has any correlation to the side effects but might help me prepare

Medication, meditation, gardening, knitting, and gentle exercise all help me. Medication has done wonders for me but all the others are grounding and give me something to focus on that's calming and uplifting.

Im sorry you're struggling so much, op Flowers

Its normal though to have these worries even the contradictory ones, a lot of ppl are sharing in them. Then there's all those who don't usually struggle with mh now freaking out at the idea of being around others bc its been so long.

I also avoid all covid related posts and news articles, I pick up on all the pertinent points anyway. That helps a lot. I don't think more than a few days ahead at most.

Also find what I eat has an impact on how anxious or panicky I feel so I try to eat well and sleep as well as I can.
