with a toddler? How/when do you ever relax? Even weekends are hellish, worse so in a way, love my Dd so very much, but so miss my old weekends. Aibu? When does this end..

Hi op. I used to despise weekends for this very reason and would wonder when the hell it gets better. I've only recently noticed things becoming more relaxed. My 3 are all primary school age, the youngest (6) still sends our blood pressure through the roof but there are genuine glimpses of pre kids weekends when you can actually get up and have a coffee in peace and if you're incredibly lucky watch something on the tv without being harassed.

Daily 'quiet time' routine. They watch a long Disney film , doesn't matter if it's Lion King on repeat (my friends toddler who won't watch anything else), or their favourite cartoons. Or they nap, up to them. You chill, Mumsnet, read, have a coffee. Don't use it to do chores etc. You a time out, to reboot .

Maybe instead of planning crafts and games and then tidying and cleaning when your little person is in bed, you could merge the two? Give her a little cloth and a spray bottle of water whilst you clean together etc. Don't use any precious child free time doing housework and jobs or you will burn out.

With great difficulty, with my first i remember relaxing and chilling loads pre moving and then when they started crawling it was game over! Up until around 3 and then it gets easier. Mine do play but as toddlers would not have played for hours on end and were super climbs etc .

But then you might have other kids and it goes on for years! We are just out the other side , eldest two are 9 and 6 and very able to entertain themselves or watch a movie , 3 year old is very busy like his brothers but also has them to play with so that is lovely tbh.
I sooo remember that feeling of " weekends aren't weekends anymore" op.....
