A) will go ahead with 100 people

C weddings banned once again

We've already postponed from last year and our venue is booked up all of 2022 so we can't postpone again unless we wait 2 years or just lose all our money

Hi Dubaigo.

My vote is personally 30/limited numbers. But I really hope I am wrong and that the answer is A!

Congratulations on your engagement and I'm sending solidarity (my wedding has been postponed twice now - not that it bothers me so much!) x

dubaigo · 31/01/2021 15:33

@amijustparanoidorjuststoned thank you so much, stressful isn't it! I'd be bloody thrilled if we were allowed 30 people so fingers crossed!

TallTowerFan · 31/01/2021 15:34

I'd say b.

I hope you get the wedding you want op.

redcandlelight · 31/01/2021 15:36

b or c
tbh I think you would probably be better of planning a small wedding this summer, preferably outside

dubaigo · 31/01/2021 15:37

@redcandlelight not an option unless we lose all our money like I said, venue is booked up for two years.

Somewhere between A and B, the economy can’t cope with constant lockdowns.

Ponoka7 · 31/01/2021 15:39

B. Unless there's a strain that the vaccines aren't effective against. Once we are all vaccinated, they can't justify restrictions.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 31/01/2021 15:40

Hopefully not C. The government reckon they'll have vaccinated everyone over the age of 16 by the end of September, so surely that won't mean total lockdown again next winter?

PinkSpring · 31/01/2021 15:40

It's hard to know what to do! It wouldn't surprise me if it can go ahead, but with restricted numbers.

We wanted to get married last year but covid..... so we are doing it this year once lockdown is over and just having a really small ceremony and be done with it! I am hoping once things calm down, we can just book something and get it sorted fairly quickly!

Wife2b · 31/01/2021 15:40

I think B, it’s a bit gutting but it is what it is. We get married in September this year and am starting to prepare for a much smaller wedding than planned. Least it’ll be cheaper I suppose Grin.

I don’t have a dress yet mind, every time I make an appointment we go into another lockdown! Have to be something off the peg. Do you have yours?

dubaigo · 31/01/2021 15:42

@Wife2b I think September is the best time to get married at the moment. Following warmer weather / schools being shut for summer! Fingers crossed for you!

I do but only because we had planned to get married pre covid - I hope you find one soon! I think they can turn them around quite quickly if needed!

snidgetowl · 31/01/2021 15:47

We're supposed to be getting married in October, having postponed from October last year - the date we were due to marry ended up being the first day of a firebreak lockdown where wedding receptions were banned (Wales). Hopefully this year it will be somewhere between A and B. Limited numbers would be better than the same date last year so fingers crossed!

peak2021 · 31/01/2021 15:49

Plan for B, if you are allowed more then you can invite more people.

dubaigo · 31/01/2021 16:02

@snidgetowl that's a good way to think of it - our original date wasn't permitted at all so anything is better than nothing! Fingers crossed for us both!

Mumsnet is a bad place to ask as it’s full of misery guts who feed off pessimism - I’m going to go with at least b and if not a. There are a gazillion vaccines now, and through history, all pandemics burn themselves out.

SimplyRadishing · 31/01/2021 16:17

I'd plan for B, and hope for A

Bluntness100 · 31/01/2021 16:20

I suspect a, but low chance of b.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 31/01/2021 16:26

My bet is B

paradyning · 31/01/2021 16:27

It will be B. We'll be lockdown number 4 or 5 in October depending on what happens to the May/June peak with current vaccine rates

CrotchetyQuaver · 31/01/2021 16:33

Somewhere between a and b I would have thought? The whole population should be pretty much vaccinated by then.

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 31/01/2021 16:41

Haha... @Toocold and yet somehow we are on our third lockdown in ten months!

SnackSizeRaisin · 31/01/2021 16:44

Probably A possibly B definitely not C

CarryOnPlainHunting · 31/01/2021 16:55

B

Ticklemynickel · 31/01/2021 16:58

B
