Just interested to know what's happening to America right now. Are children in school or are they all still homeschooled? Is it different in different states?

It completely depends. I have some friends who have been in school a bit. Some have been mostly home all this time (keep in mind American school summer holidays are like 3 months anyway). Some go a few days a week, some every other week. They didn't have the return to normal that we had largely in the autumn though.

Good point above about the distinction in the US between homeschooling and distance learning. Some states have had distance learning options even before covid for students for whom in-person school wasn't working well for them.

I have grandchildren in one state going to in-person school full time (with mask wearing and other precautions), and grandchildren in another state still doing full-time distance learning.
