School wants my kids in

So brief background my twins are in year 10 they’re on the autistic spectrum and have other special needs the school really wants them to attend, part of me does want them to go because they are falling behind I’m helping as much as I can but I do have a 9 year old and a 18month old so it’s hard and I know they won’t have long to catch up before they leave next year, but then the other part of me feels bad, I suffer with anxiety and health anxiety so it’s pretty heightened at the thought of them going to school. WWYD?

Sounds like your school has got a really great set up and they will not only be safe but they will be able to learn and socialise.

Don’t be pressured. I would not send them in. That’s my personal feeling. Only you know what’s best for you and your children.

My DS has ASD and he is in school because that is what is best for him. I am on immunosuppressant drugs for a chronic illness but I know my child’s education and mental health is more important than me. This isn’t about you.

My Ds is starting tomorrow for similar reasons

Are you in a higher risk group? I wouldn’t hesitate but no one in our household is particularly vulnerable. My child with ASD is in and I’m in my hospital office one day a week. Is this really about realistic COVID risks or anxiety? I also suffer from an but thankfully not health anxiety. It’s hard to be rational when you are so worried.
