been on the waiting list 2 years - showing 30 in bidding systems
DV occurred up to September 2020 when i forced my exp out the house.
rent is 600 and i cannot afford it now there’s just me and DS.
Landlord is shit, I have no heating, riddled with damp and window hanging out of pane. It’s a 3rd floor flat. HSA (housing standards authority) keep saying they’re contacting my landlord and he’s sending someone round, they never come.
PTSD is kicking in and i can’t go in my bedroom without vomiting and panicking as that’s where the abuse occurred
poor credit and no guarantor and no way i can afford private rent as average is 600-700 in my area and i need support
severe depression, OCD and anxiety
im getting 1140 in UC and im in arrears with everything, DHP was rejected and can’t appeal

Every single time when I phone up I get “keep bidding you’re moving up the list” yet I’m really not. I can’t take anymore of this, I hate my life and I don’t think I have a future at all.

Congratulations!! Such great news.
Really delighted for you 😍 A fresh new start.
Definitely keep the pressure on your old landlord and don’t let him get away with it!

Im fleeing DV I m in one bed temp accommodation in Manchester
Im bidding but nothing is haapaning.Cant afford private rent i would fail credit check.They said I can be here up to 12 months.
My daughter is 5 and its miles away from her school and my work.At the end of the day you just have to wait and be patient.I know how it feels I hate it here there s bad smell and damp...Finger crosses good luck to you

@Bollss

If you have PTSD can you get your doctor to write to the council advising your need to move is urgent?

I know that consultants in the trust here will do that if they genuinely think it will help your mental state.

Yes, would check this and try to do this.

You could mention that the window is unsound and therefore triggering as the property is not secure.

carrying on with degree sounds good, be careful of impact on benefits though.

Is it at all possible that as a mature student you might be eligible for student accomodation?

Might be a stop gap, and then when you are finished in there you would be pending homeless?

@Bellver888

A happy update. I have my own maisonette. 😀 not the one I originally bid on, but another on a large estate. I panicked at first but it has ramp access which is great, there’s no one living above me either and the flat underneath is for storage.

The complaints still with the LGO so hopefully I get something. Solicitor wants to go down the route of compo. I get the keys in 3 weeks

well done. hope this suits.

Onward Homes advertise immediate let properties on their website. We for one in the Gtr Manchester area through them that way. Wasn't in the greatest of places but it was better than the flat we lived in
