I don’t understand.
Are they CCTV cameras on private, residential property?
How would you go about ‘protecting’ your camera?

ViciousJackdaw · 20/01/2021 14:15

What are you suggesting? Should we all rush out and buy new security cameras to keep watch over our existing security cameras? Who is protecting those though?

Yes. You would simply put a password on your camera.

Absolutely not. I'm suggesting people secure their cameras by password protection. Even printers can be found and used by anyone if they're not secure.

I wish the hackers luck using my printer; it refuses to print anything for me 90% of time, the bastard.

Unique account name.
Unique complex password.
Two factor authentication.

Standard operating procedure.

ButterMeUpScotty · 20/01/2021 20:27

So what if someone does hack it- it looks out onto the public street and the most exciting thing happening on my driveway is me putting out the recycling. Once I played donkey out there with the kids- should I be afraid a perv can hack in and get excited excited by my child bouncing a ball?

WithinAForestDark · 20/01/2021 20:28

I don't understand what you want OP. Are you selling something? Confused

Who do you work for?

Basically, not securing them puts your privacy at risk. Up to you if that bothers you or not.

FabbyMagic · 20/01/2021 20:35

Why do you keep bumping this OP? Agree important point generally on keeping cameras secure but do you work for that company or something? Bit weird!

Yes this.

Not sure why people are pretending it's peculiar to suggest you put a password on.

People actively search for these devices and personally I would rather it wasn't my family's.
