To find it a bit weird there are still houses decorated for Christmas

That’s it.
DH and I take an evening walk every night and I am still seeing houses with Christmas lights flashing and houses that have decorated Christmas trees in their windows.

I am getting that people feel they need cheering up.... but is that just it? Am I missing something and need to get the decs out of the attic again?

Yes I see it but it doesn't bother me. If it helps that person or a passer by in a tiny way it's good.
My indoor lights held up with blue tac will now be cable clipped

@mrsbyers I Agree. There was several threads about when people put them up, a lot seemed to be early to mid November. No one seemed to mind or be bothered about that. What's the difference between them being up from the 1st November to leaving them up until 2nd February?

Our tree is down as we got a real one this year. If we had our artificial it would be up until Candlemas on 2nd Feb. Our crib is staying up until then as our the inside lights (we don't have outside lights - flat).

@mrsbyers

Personally I think it’s weirder that some people put them up in November

Me too. My new neighbour asked me if I celebrated Christmas because I hadn't got my tree up in the first week of December. Then she had all her stuff down on Boxing Day. 'On to the next thing Annie' it must be bloody exhausting.

Lordy, my tree's still up with just lights although other decs have gone. It's not because I need cheering up or anything, just ran out of time when packing away and have realised I'm in no hurry. Otherwise religiously down before 6th, and never up until a week before Christmas. That's what I think is odd, when people put their trees, lights and decorations up before the 3rd of advent-ish.

They did a piece about this on the evening news. They went in people's houses with trees and fireplaces/front doors decorated
