27 and first baby!

Right so one of my school friends has announced she is pregnant. We’re 27.
Several people from school have children and more are having them all the time. This girl has bought a house and has been married for well over 5 years.
Lots of people obviously congratulating them but I spoke to my other friend and my mum yesterday and mentioned it to them and my mum went silent, my friend was horrified

So why are people judging? We’re 27 for gods sake. One minute my mum wants me to have a baby the next minute people are saying it’s too young. Yet I bet post-30 they’re the opposite. I wanted a baby in a couple of years (I’m getting married this year and we’ve bought a house) but don’t want people saying I’m too young at 29?! Seems like you can never do anything right

I was 25 with a full time job. No one else’s business. It was my choice and what I wanted. People are just judgemental.

And on the other end of the spectrum my DP was once described as an 'older dad' when we had ds. He was 29!

I had twins at 26, plus the majority of my friends have had babies at this age!

I'd have thought 27 is a pretty normal age to have a baby...? I have just turned 30 and not had one yet - it is no one else's business when someone decides at what age to have a baby.

I was married at 27 and had my first at 29. I went to uni and worked a good few years before i met dh. That was right for me. I had my second child at 30 when my mum was the same age she had four kids. We all do what is right for ourselves. 27 is neither too young or old to have babies and from a fertility point of view it is better to have kids in your late twenties than late thirties. The friend was rude as was your mum.
