I am a confessed chocoholic.
I like having one 'row' of plain chocolate after dinner.
my usual supermarked own brand has changed from neat rows into a weird uneven crissy crossy pattern.
aibu to say that that should be illegal?

@Fatherbrownsbicycle

YANBU op. I won’t be buying one of these bars again because of the uneven chunks, I won’t buy Tony’s either.
what an insulting name as well! happiness! without proper squares!

That montezumas is what’s currently annoying me! I got a box of about 15 little bars in lots of flavours and the bar design is crap.

SlopesOff · 15/01/2021 21:26

Montezumas isn't all that great anyway, if you have to get unevenly segmented chocolate you may as well get Tony's.

CarlottaValdez · 15/01/2021 21:37

Agreed. It was a Christmas present and it’s a bit disappointing

FlamedToACrisp · 15/01/2021 21:39

Stick to Dairy Milk - problem solved!

I want a Tony’s (never heard of them before) but then I’m more of an “eat the whole bar in one sitting” kind of woman.

YABU to describe yourself as a chocoholic and eat a row of plain supermarket chocolate.

Not even chocolate

tofuschnitzel · 15/01/2021 21:49

It's shite, isn't it? Earlier in the week I was trying to break a bar of chocolate and couldn't fathom why it was so difficult for me to do so. It was only after opening the wrapper that I could see it was split into uneven shapes. Bloody Cadbury's.

Oh naff off with that elitist shite. If someone is happy with supermarket chocolate, and I include myself in that, then let them crack on. You can appreciate both expensive and inexpensive chocolate, one does not cancel out the other.

100% agree. Nice neat rows please.

As so many seem to agree hopefully we will see an end to that madness!

Eckhart · 15/01/2021 21:58

Cut it with a big knife.

BrieAndChilli · 15/01/2021 21:58

Try making sure all 3 kids have equal amounts of chocolate!!!

rc22 · 15/01/2021 22:04

Which brand is it OP?

Cotswolds10 · 15/01/2021 22:05

Just popping in to say I love this thread. PP on both sides of the argument making me laugh. Thank you for cheering up a dull Friday evening. (But for the record, discovered Tony’s as a Christmas present and love it, the chocolate is gorgeous and uneven chunks allowed me to divide it between me and my DDs to my advantage!)

redcandlelight · 15/01/2021 22:06

Cut it with a big knife.
Shock that could be quite dangerous. imagine sitting in a&e with a chocolate splinter in your eyeball!
OP posts:
Eckhart · 15/01/2021 22:08

No, it's fine. I make chocolates and regularly have to cut chocolate up. It's a bit weird... 'Would anyone like a slice of chocolate whilst I've got it open?' but it works for cutting off the right weight.

Chocolate splinters in the eye melt into salted chocolate tears Grin

SisyphusDad · 15/01/2021 22:09

YABVU to use the words 'uneven squares'. All chocolate is the work of the devil and unfortunately I'm a satanist Halo.

Eckhart · 15/01/2021 22:10

Anyway, isn't it always in a nice neat rectangle? And that's a portion?

guilty

but for some reason 'uneven bits' doesn't sound right either.

Eckhart · 15/01/2021 22:13

Uneven chunks?

OwlWearingGlasses · 15/01/2021 22:17

Yes. And the delicious but rubbishly thin Green and Blacks dark chocolate that never snaps off in a proper row.

OwlWearingGlasses · 15/01/2021 22:19

Dairy Milk is 'may contain gluten' which REALLY angers me as we can't have it due to Coeliac disease.
WHY Cadbury's WHY?
