To ask what strange and unusual talents your DP possesses?

Mine can go to the shop to buy milk, bread and apples and come home with milk, bread and apples.

It's a disappointing talent, but he's quite proud of it

If I fall asleep watching a film or tv programme, he will make up a fantasy ending which I fall for every time because he sounds so convincing, but every time it is in fact complete bullshit

I feel that some people have missed the subtle nuances of the OP

Fix almost anything from cars to plumbing to electrics electronics etc
Ice skate/plays ice hockey
Weightlift
Great singing voice
Fab general knowledge

He can snore very loudly no matter what position he sleeps in.

He can fart and demand.

One that is an actual ‘talent’ he can do the splits (both ways) and if he is stood up he can put his foot in the hood of his hoodie and lower his foot/his torso very quickly to remove said hoodie.

He can also use a fork with his feet.

He can fall asleep instantly, literally he can be talking on the exhale breath and snore on the inhale.

He can also sort any IT or technical problems out. Like a pp said, problems seem to resolve just by him walking in a room.

@PlinkPlink No I don’t think they have. Just trying to be kind too rather than just having a lighthearted dig.

DP can sleep through a child ambling around in the middle of night saying, cheerfully, “I’ve wet the bed!”. He can see a clean house when mere mortals see something one unhoovered floor away from a Channel 5 documentary. He can balance new loo rolls on top of a freestanding holder. He can point out how the children are incapable of putting their coats and boots neatly in the utility room while actually unlacing his dirty boots in the dining room and sliding them under the sofa. He is a miracle.

DH is a medical marvel.

He will suffer through major illnesses such as man flu without medication because he took a paracetamol 3 weeks ago. Apparently it will still be in his system and working.

I may donate his body to science so they can investigate this further.

He can fix stuff. Pretty much anything. And makes really good sourdough and coffee.

DP is brilliant at keep on top of the washing, he always makes sure ours and DD's clothes are washed and no huge piles. Oh and he can open a banana with his feet🤔🤣

He also remembers directions to places that we haven't been to for years and years.

Another IT wizard here. Years ago we went to some sort of interactive museum exhibition with computers through the ages - he sat down in front of one and started programming . Also despite being a fairly soft and cuddly sort, any hint of danger he says two sentences in his Russian accent and people fuck right off.

Basically what I’d say to my single friends is, Find a Russian programmer.

I suspect people aren't reading beyond the title!

Early morning tea making; can iron as ex Forces, but prefers not to. Can mend most things and is hugely practical.

He just gets into bed and is right off to sleep, whereas I take ages to fall asleep. He tells me this is also due to having been a submariner, where rack time was precious.

He can speak fluent French, good German, some Dutch, bad Italian, Spanish and appalling Russian. He can also say "I've got a funny face" in Danish.

He can also go shopping, do the school run, play guitar and piano and discuss complex maths and science problems with the DCs.

Oh and he is really really good at ordering things from Amazon.

Quite a few other things as well but most of all he can put up with me :)

Mine can read the thread title and the first post and respond appropriately.

My husband is very athletic and has this amazing ability to peg it out of the house and go for a run during his lunch hour, leaving me to make lunch for the kids, having home schooled them all morning. He's ordinarily heavy footed, but certainly has a talent for exiting the house without a sound.

He can switch his alarm on snooze 5 times without noticing and still be asleep despite the rest of the house being woken by it.

Mine can do anything he sets his mind to...he even managed to reupholster a antique chairs. Got the material, measurements and bought and sewing machine and off he went.

Mine can do an uncanny impersonation of Darth Vader breathing when he sleeps...

He also makes these strange noises from his throat when sticking his finger in his ear....animal like 🤣

Mine can cook amazing meals, as long as they only require one pot and boiled

Mine can look after our child without calling it babysitting, do domestic chores without being asked or say I'm nagging, and fix just about anything by YouTubing it.

He gets out everything for mine and DCs breakfast the night before so it's ready for the morning. Including the equipment for me to make coffee and porridge oats and milk soaking overnight in the fridge.

He can figure out people very quickly i.e if someone is a schister he clocks it straight away.

Everyone loves him! He is calm and measured.

He genuinely doesn't care what people think of him and is always happy to make a fool out of himself for our DCs entertainment.

He is a brilliant dad.

But he cannot stack the dishwasher to save his life and he balls up his socks when he takes them off!
