To use cooked turkey left out overnight?

Gaaa. I just found 2 packets of cooked turkey that I bought yesterday evening, still sitting in the dining room. I must have put them down when I was carrying stuff to the fridge and forgotten about them. How bad would it be to still use it for lunch? If it was a warm room I wouldn't consider it but the room is cold, right on the end of the house, and it was a freezing cold night last night.

I know people never used to have fridges etc (as my grandma loves to remind me!) but would I make my family sick if I give them this for lunch?

I would definitely use it as you say it has been in a cold room.

Dixiechickonhols · 15/01/2021 12:30

Cold room I would. Heating on or in sun I wouldn’t risk it.

Minky37 · 15/01/2021 12:30

I probably wouldn’t as I hate being sick / having the squits so not worth the risk for a couple of quid to me.

MaraScottie · 15/01/2021 12:31

No chance I would.

I got some chicken breasts out to defrost last night and left in the kitchen. Hardly defrosted this morning as so cold. You should be fine.

abigailsnan · 15/01/2021 12:33

I wouldn't use it personally but it would probably be ok,do you have a family dog or cat who would like it ?

Brighterthansunflowers · 15/01/2021 12:36

Personally I wouldn’t because I worry about stuff like that. But I wouldn’t judge someone who did if the room they were in had been cold the whole time.

Godimabitch · 15/01/2021 12:56

Does it feel cold to the touch? Open it, does it smell ok? Then its probably fine.

VestaTilley · 15/01/2021 13:09

It’ll be fine, eat it. I ate ham a few days past it’s use by date the other day and it was fine.
