Who was in public place attempting suicide. I know a young man in my local area attempted suicide in a public place today. It’s been playing on my mind a lot as I feel so sad for him. I would definitely stop and help a person in distress.

I would call 999 and not even approach the person (and that is not because I don't care... it is because it would be very triggering for me as I have been the person on a ledge a few times).
It is far too easy to say the wrong thing if you have no training. Telling someone on the edge that their family will be devastated, or they have to live for xyz reason is not helpful and can be harmful.

Yes I would. Someone did it for my ds when he was unwell, and I'll be forever grateful to them.

Yes, and have done. It was scary but I couldn't not at least try. Thankfully he got the help he needs and is doing great now. Have since done a suicide awareness course so would be much more confident if ever in the same position again. Have recommended the course to anyone who listen, they're usually free and so so important

Yes I would as someone with a dd with serious mental health problems. I wouldn’t be able to leave the person there but equally I can see why some wouldn’t want to.

Yes I think I would
