To have the 'odd' fag

I don't smoke. I can go days/weeks without smoking. But sometimes, when I have a drink, I really want a fag.

I do drink a couple of glasses of wine through the week tbh, but never want a cig. But sometimes, every know and again, I just really fancy a fag.

So I can smoke 2 fags in 10 days.

Would you class me as a smoker, if I have half a fag or two once a week?

I know I don't need it, but it tastes so good after a couple of wines

I used to smoke, generally when pissed, but still a smoker. I cannot however get on board with the idea that it is soooo tasty 🤢

I'm a fair weather smoker, tend to only smoke during the summer when I have a drink.

After the kids have gone to bed etc on a nice summers evening in the garden.

Although I only smoke Menthols so I'm hoping we will be able to go abroad again soon to buy some.

I was the same, only ever a social smoker really anyway. But liked a smoke occasionally when I had a drink. I could have an open pack of fags in my night out bag for months. Didn't usually even finish the fag -couple of puffs, head rush, big smile 😄

I know a few occasional social smokers. I look at it more this way, if I went running 6 times a year it would be utterly ridiculous to call myself a runner! People would laugh if I did that! So I don’t class those who have the odd cig as smokers. Although if you’re doing it weekly, then yes you are a smoker even if it’s just one or two.

True. But it means you are not a teetotaler.

Of course you’re a smoker. Regardless of how few or many you have, if you smoke cigarettes, you’re a smoker.

I smoked 20/30 a day.
I stopped a couple of years ago. I would love to have an occasional fag BUT I know if I had one I would be back on them.

Social smoker

I always fancy one when I'm having a drink but it's always bloody horrible. I much prefer just smelling other people do it

I wouldn’t class you as a smoker. I smoked (and fucking LOVED it) for 20 years but I can up about 6 years ago and have vaped since. I very occasionally have the odd small cigar if I get the craving, which gives the same hit but also reminds me of how disgusting it is and how much it makes me smell. I haven’t had one for over a year and I can take or leave that craving. I still love the smell of cigarette smoke though.

Maybe it depends a little who wants to know if you are a smoker or not! If someone is just making conversation is asking i wouldn't begrudge you saying you don't smoke (or barely smoke). Insurance, medically, id say you do smoke but if you get chance clarify how little.

Look on the bright side of it if tour a smoker when you retire your private pension will pay more because your deemed to have a shorter life expectancy

Non smokers dont smoke.
Smokers may smoke occasionally, or a 20 a day, but what they have in common is they put things in their mouths and light them.
