Chillys have just brought out a coffee cup? Bought my husband one for Xmas and he loves it, keeps coffee hot for ages and will go nicely with a coffee subscription!

jcyclops · 13/01/2021 00:09

Buyagift/Red Letter Days/Virgin Experience Days

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 13/01/2021 00:09

I got someone around that age a very nice Barbour gilet. There are some good reductions on the website and they deliver quickly, you can email them to say its an emergency.

WithIcePlease · 13/01/2021 00:23

Readly

DH loves it. Recommended on here.
1000's of magazines to read
Also one subscription can be used on up to ?5 devices so DH has on phone and iPad
Really super selection of magazines and some newspapers

Whatup · 13/01/2021 01:06

Smart watch, chocolate covered espresso beans and some booze. Also don't forget snacks and cake!

PerveenMistry · 13/01/2021 01:24

@JaceLancs

Hard to say as you’ve not given much info However it was my DP birthday today Bought him 2 new shirts, and a t shirt, his favourite gin, 2 escape games, pocket knife, costa gift card, DIY tools, biscuits/chocolates (luxury) cash towards things he needs like tyres for car (out of work and bees transport)

Whoa. All that for a birthday?!

PerveenMistry · 13/01/2021 01:28

Swiss Army knife? With all the gadgets?

I received one in 1985 and still use it at least once a week; it's in the kitchen drawer.

Felco pruners and wire cutters are great if he's gardener. They're superb.

Good sunglasses?

TheChineseChicken · 13/01/2021 03:25

@Chocolatehasruinedmylife

For info - He's a beer drinker Coffee drinker Mountain biker Likes films Likes gadgets

I am currently looking on Amazon for inspiration, hoping something quirky jumps out at me

Flavourly beer subscription
Yesbutisittouching · 13/01/2021 03:43

In case he’s a swimmer, I bought my DH last year swimming Google’s by a firm called ‘form’ they have a heads up digital display so you can track your stroke/distance etc. He absolutely loves them. Apart from the novelty he also says they’re the best goggles he’s ever had. Not cheap though :—( Not sure about a gift this year though so following with interest!

Maskedcrusader · 13/01/2021 04:52

GoPro to record his bike rides?

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 13/01/2021 06:48

I'd recommend the Ninja Foodi - we bought one at Christmas - it's AMAZING. We got the one with 9 different functions (fancy!) and it is every kitchen-gadget-loving fan's dream, I reckon! Not much it can't do!

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 13/01/2021 06:50

Oh and also, I agree with the person who recommended the Readly subscription - it's great. Saved my husband a fortune on gadget/computer magazines he reads! £7.99 a month (although there's probably a joining offer at the moment) and he can read magazines a-plenty for that cost - normally just one of those magazines was costing at least £5.99 - so definitely worth the subscription.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 13/01/2021 06:59

No particular suggestions of what to get, but I ordered form Argos last night, will be ready to collect from the mini Sainsburys across the road this morning.

Pbbananabagel · 13/01/2021 07:50

An aeropress! If he’s into coffee it’s fun to use and really affects the taste- much closer to barista made than any other home method

Zeebeededodah · 13/01/2021 07:57

GoPro or cheaper budget ApeMan camera to record bike rides. Mountain bike shoes.

rebeccachoc · 13/01/2021 08:20

I'd suggest a voucher for an experience so he has something to look forward to and it's something he will always remember, rather than an item that will get used or forgotten over the years. What about hot air ballooning or something like that?

fuzzyduck1 · 13/01/2021 09:40

Inflatable canoe
My partner asks me every year what I want I always say a Lamborghini.
Every year I am disappointed 😔

Chocolatehasruinedmylife · 14/01/2021 17:24

UPDATE

Whatever I get needs to be available from a supermarket Grin

LabCoatPocket · 14/01/2021 18:40

Supermarkets do vouchers for different things? He could choose something?

A bottle of posh spirits?

Sainsbury's also have an Argos in the stores I have visited recently?

LabCoatPocket · 14/01/2021 18:41

Or Halfords do click and collect for biking stuff?

Chocolatehasruinedmylife · 14/01/2021 19:10

I think I'm going to look through Aros tonight, He has most things, which makes it a tad harder. Think I might try an experience day?
