Me and DP are both key workers, working full time. During the first wave of covid we managed to keep our dd off school completely by arranging our shifts so we were never off on the same days and taking unpaid leave/using up holidays. This time we have been keeping dd off as much as possible, keeping her off on our days off. This week she will only be in school two days and I am on annual leave next week so she won’t be in school at all.
I received a message from school to ask parents to go and pick up a home learning pack, consisting of English and maths books etc. I went in today to collect it and there wasn’t one there for dd. When I asked where hers was I was told if she attends school she won’t get one. I explained she is only in school a few days a week and home the rest. I was then told I would just need to use the work that’s uploaded on to the school website. Surely this is unfair?
Apparently they are provided with the same packs in class (though she's not had one yet) so I asked if she could bring it home. I was told this was not possible because of the risk of cross infection. I now feel I am not being provided with all the resources to be able to home school her! We have been trying to support the school as much as possible by keeping her off! Would I be unreasonable to just send her in full time so she's not missing out on any learning?
