To work at a slower pace even though I could be more efficient?

I've just been changed to a different department. My new temporary role involves exclusively translating content for the company. Any translator would charge at the very least £25ph but I get paid about half that. My line manager is super chilled and has now clue how long it should take me. AIBU?

So basically they're wanting you to use a skill that commands a higher hourly rate but pay you your usual hourly rate that you would normally get from doing other duties?

Fressia123 · 15/01/2021 06:42

In some ways that's the case @whitechocolatehobnobs but I'm a FT employee with an annual salary. The hourly rate is just for comparison.

Oblomov20 · 15/01/2021 06:59

I actually understand your predicament. Often in book-keeping and accounts the hourly rate offered is pitiful. I won't work for an hourly rate that doesn't value my years of experience and skills. I tell them I can earn more ironing and walking dogs!
