To expect a no outside shoe rule in the baby room

So I visited a nursery with my still crawling 12 month old today. I put on my nice socks fully expecting to be told to take off my shoes. But everyone in the room had on their shoes. All the other babies had on their shoes but were walking around. I guess I’m asking AIBU and expecting too much.

Dd's nursery use to have shoes off, until a wet November day when there was a fire alarm (no fire, smoke from kitchen in different part of the building). They had to evacuate all the kids and staff in socks.

At the nursery my children used to go to it was always shoes off, we had to use covers when we went to visit the nursery. I would not have chosen a nursery that didn't.

I think it is gross wearing shoes in the nursery rooms. They should all have a no shoe policy at least for under 2 year olds.

@LadyMinerva

And people wonder why allergies are at an all time high....

By keeping babies in sterile environments their immune systems are being stunted.

^^^ This It seems crazy these days, kids have allergies towards everything. In the 70's / 80's no one was allergic to peanuts, now kids get a reaction if they walk down the snack isle in Tesco
