Inverse Psoriasis Help - Please Anyone!

DrumsPleaseandTriangleToo · 06/01/2021 22:24

Do any fellow sufferers have any words of wisdom?

I have inverse psoriasis in annoying places eg. Ears, nails, etc. I can cope with most of it but am so fed up of it in the genital, inter buttock area. The entire area is currently red raw. The only thing I find that treats it is trimovate but the moment I stop it comes back with a complete vengeance. I've just had an umpteenth course of it. All cleared - 3 days on back and worse than ever. I layer hydromol as a barrier but it's not helping.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

I have regular psoriasis, mostly scalp, also elbows. My scalp psoriasis is pretty bad.

I recently found a product that has given me huge relief. It might be worth looking into?

Ps. I bought this to treat toenail fungus. When I received it, the accompanying literature list a lot of conditions that benefit from this ointment. Psoriasis was mentioned and I though I would give it a try. It hasn’t cleared it up completely, but there is a really significant improvement.

I bought the sample size initially, just to try it out.

Might be worth checking out?

I have it in my ears, throughout my scalp, hairline, forehead and small patches on arms. Betamouse helps me but like gold dust this past year Sad

I have scalp, body and nail psoriasis. I used to use dovobet for the body but it took ages to work and then didn’t always do much. A few years ago the doctor prescribed me a scalp treatment which I use on my body. It’s the only thing that works! I only use it around the edges of my scalp as my hair gets greasy enough without it. I put it on a couple of times and the worst of it goes right down. I’m really bad at continuing to put it on, once it goes down I forget and they keep coming back. But it’s the best I’ve used it’s called DiproSalic.

My DD had this as a child but currently it is ok. We used trimovate at the time and then dermol.

I guess you could ask to go on biologicals or try light therapy?

Coal tar and salicylic acid preparation from a go. Highest coal tar with the acid. Over the counter are dire.
You could try ionil T scalp cleanser which has both these things in it, use it like a very concentrated body wash, I put it on using a little soft body brush directly onto the psoriasis in the bath and try and leave it, fades it right down.

On my things that clear mine, pregnancy, the coal tar salicylic acid preparation (applied twice a day for a month) and that scalp cleanser used like a body wash.

Steroids will destroy your skin, often give a rebound reaction.

Uvb is another option, you can get the lamps online if it's small areas, I'd start with the creams first though.

Good luck.
It truly is a horrible disease.

Is there a particular brand of coal tar salicylic acid prep that you recommend

DianaT1969 · 07/01/2021 02:27

I'm not sure if this will work, but I occasionally see comments in my 16/8 Intermittent fasting threads that it has helped with psoriasis. Fasting appears to help inflammatory conditions generally.

DianaT1969 · 07/01/2021 02:29

Meant to say, fasting sounds a bit hardcore, but you can eat every day of course. Just no snacking outside of your 8 hour eating window.

I got it prescribed and made in a compounding chemist. I'm not in the UK though.

They call it lpc over here.
The UK is diabolical for its crap psoriasis treatment.

You can get the same stuff as a liquid? Betamethasone Valearate. No supply issues with that. I've used it for years. It's exactly the same ingredient as Betamousse. Same strength
JhsLs · 07/01/2021 04:37

I also use Trimovate for genital psoriasis, which is the only thing which works cream wise. Sun beds made a big difference for me too.

Summer19 · 07/01/2021 07:04

I've used Diprosalic scalp application and ointment for 30 years and it is brilliant
