3yr old tooth knocked out

AIBU to take my 3yr old son to the dentist tomorrow as he knocked his tooth out today by falling over. Didn't know if a dentist appt is needed as it's a milk tooth?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, my daughter did this when she was four. Dentist had to check that no fragments had been left in gums. Hope he’s ok, DD was really upset.

Forgot to add - take the knocked out tooth or a photo of it when you go so dentist can see if any of it is missing

Yes, have it checked out just in case. Our toddler DS did the same about 6 months ago, it came out so DH put it back in. It went grey for a few days then suddenly set and turned back white.

Yes, definitely dentist . Ds managed to shatter his and actually needed the fragments removing under general anaesthetic (I’m sure yours will be fine though if it came out cleanly!)
The only other thing to say - which is quite funny - he’s getting most of his big teeth now but still has a gap where that first baby tooth came out at 3! The dentist said the trauma could sometimes delay it!

Had he knocked it out completely? Both mine knocked theirs back.
The dentist pushed it back in place, very bruised and lots of blood, and it went grey and then white but all ok.

Yes, it's completely out poor little thing, managed to calm him down with the promise that the tooth fairy will come tomorrow. I will book a dentist appt tomorrow just to make sure all is well. Thank you everyone
