Just that really will schools still be able to carry out ongoing assessments on year 11 students to get more data to improve their grades bearing in mind they are online?

Yes just had email from school about it with assessment timetable

Gallantgoose1 · 06/01/2021 19:19

Yes it just seems very open to cheating especially with it being online

Even if they do we know everyone will cheat, and the ones who wouldn't cheat would end up cheating because everyone else is cheating so it's unfair on them not to cheat Hmm

LoveMyKidsAndCats · 06/01/2021 19:20

So sorry OP just checked and its the years 7-10 assessment timetable not sure if the year 11s got a different email

LoveMyKidsAndCats · 06/01/2021 19:21

We know what you know. The government are fond of making announcements without making plans

Have the DFE told heads anything or released guidelines?

The thing is my DD wouldn't cheat and so will she lose out? Seems pretty damn unfair!
Gallantgoose1 · 06/01/2021 19:28

@Titsywoo yes it’s such a shame that schools might not be able to gather more data why couldn’t the DFE instruct schools to do intensive assessments to get as much data as possible

@Titsywoo of course it's unfair, but ultimately I am sure a lot of parents will even be encouraging their children to cheat because they want the best grades for their child, to be honest I am not sure how/if the government would even be able to take these online tests into consideration for the 'fair teacher assessments' because they aren't idiots (well..) and know people will cheat especially now. Then once the children who wouldn't cheat see that everyone else is cheating they will see it as unfair for them not to cheat because everyone else will have unordinarily high grades Confused

MrsHamlet · 06/01/2021 19:42

@Gallantgoose1 of course not 🤣 The Dfe are making stuff up in the fly as normal

Our mocks have been suspended until we get more details about how we're supposed to be assessing them
