YABU ... They should
YANBU ... They shouldn't

For context DD14 has spent 7 of the possible 12 weeks in school so far due to burst bubbles etc. So has had 7 of a possible 12 practical lessons (construction/engineering).

The school bus which we pay £80 pm for is not running due to lockdown.

She is expected at school for her exam at 8.30 on Monday morning, I do not drive school is 19.78 miles away so will cost around £75 in a taxi for her to sit an exam which she can't possibly have all the knowledge to do well in!!!

@rabbitheadlights luckily he has a great group of on line friends that he's known for years through gaming. The kicker is, a few of them don't live to far from us now that We've moved - but obviously they can't meet up (close but it's still half hour journey so not great to meet up outside one on one. And they don't want to do that now they are 18, they'd prefer a night at a pub! Poor lads).

The rest of my son's exam has been cancelled. It was five questions over a few days and they did the first few today. The were told it has been cancelled as they finished.

The part they did today will be marked and will count towards their final grade. They've been given tomorrow off to relax too.

Thefeep · 06/01/2021 16:07

We got an email today cancelling them.

Hopefully DDs school will follow suit, but something tells me they won't. (The exams officer did sound determined on the phone)

DD’s are going ahead.

Piersmistress · 06/01/2021 18:36

Ours are going ahead. If my DD is isolating and can prove it, will they then allocate a grade based on the teacher?

Directionerforever · 06/01/2021 19:20

I don’t see why @Piersmistress, in the letter DD received it basically says ‘we know you might not want to come in and do the exam so just let us know if that’s the case’. I assume then other things will come into play.

Directionerforever · 06/01/2021 19:20

*why not. Sorry that could have been clearer!
